If you are looking for a quaint place to dine on a Saturday drive to Tagaytay, there is this beautiful little nook called Concha’s Garden Cafe. It is located along the Calamba-Tagaytay Road.
How to get to Nuvali, Sta Rosa, Laguna
Travelling south of Manila nowadays are very convenient. It would take you less than an hour to get to Sta Rosa as soon as you hit the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). If you are commuting from Manila, you may go the closest JAM Liner or JAC Liner bus Terminals and take the bus going to Balibago. You may also take the UV Express Van going to Balibago from the terminal at Edsa Shaw MRT Station (Fare is at P70). When the van reaches the Sta. Rosa Exit, there are 2 ways to getting to Concha’s Garden Cafe.
- Via Balibago – Stay on the van until you get to the Balibago Business district. Inform the driver that you need to get off at the jeepney terminal going to Tagaytay. Board the jeep going to Tagaytay and tell the driver you are getting off at AUP (Adventist University of the Philippines). You will pass by the famous Solenad Ayala Malls in Nuvali. The Cafe is just beside the Petron gasoline station at the right side of the road. Fare is around P23.
- Via Paseo, Greenfields- If and when you don’t want to go to Balibago anymore, you may take the Tricycle to AUP. How to do that…if and when your van/bus arrives at the Sta. Rosa Exit, tell the driver you are getting off at the Coca-Cola Plant. This is just right after the tollbooths so you won’t miss. Walk ahead near the Coca Cola Plant’s entrance gates and you will see lined tricycles along the road. Go to the end of the line and tell them you are going to Paseo. It is the commercial district along the Tagaytay-Calamba Road. If you are on budget, let the driver know that you are riding along with other commuters or what we call “punuan”. This way you won’t have to shoulder the whole trip’s fare. Going to Paseo Commercial complex, it would take around 15- 20 minutes and fare is at P17 per person. If you are in a hurry or travelling in groups, you may take the special trip but could cost you around P100 (Max occupancy of the tricycle is 7 excluding the driver). Once you get to Paseo, there are jeepneys lined up near the 711 store at the Caltex gas station. These are jeepneys going to Lumil or to Tagaytay even. Tell the driver you are getting off at AUP. Fare is P8 per person. If there are no jeepneys available, you may wait along the road for the jeepneys going to Tagaytay. In any case there are no jeepneys still, hire a tricycle going to AUP. I am just not sure how much it would cost though.
The main Cafe located within the garden,
is an air-conditioned space and has long tables for 6-8 pax perfect for families. There are a couple of gazebos by the garden for Al fresco dining. The place is very cozy even at night. Perfect for the quiet dinner date.
