Foodies like me should always look around for opportunities to make experiential learning happen. “Experiential Learning” as I’ve discovered is actually an adult educational theory where people learn by doing. I have always believed in this throughout my corporate life and reading about this theory just cements my belief that it can be very effective.

As we know adults are hard to teach but because of previous learning experiences, they learn to learn by experiencing.

Yeah redundant words but not in thought.

Kolb and Frye describe experiential learning as a four-part cycle:

  1. The learner has concrete experience with the content being taught.
  2. The learner reflects on the experience by comparing it from prior experiences.
  3. Based on experience and reflection, the learner develops new ideas about the content being taught.
  4. The learner acts on her new ideas by experimenting in an experiential setting.

And that is why… I am so excited to be a part of the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (Mafbex) 2017 Event. I am looking forward to be inspired and innovate my creations in the kitchen based on my inspirations.

MAFBEX 2017 is being held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. This runs from June 14-18, 2017 with operations starting from 10AM to 6PM.
